What we collect, why, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
When you sign up for the weekly report, we collect the email address you enter, plus your first name and state if you choose to give them, the page you signed up from, and the time you signed up.
When you visit the site, we use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to understand which pages people read and how they found us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your device type, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. It does not tell us who you are.
How we use it
We use your email address to send the weekly report and occasional updates about On the Shoulders of Medusa. We use your state to understand where our readers are, which helps us choose Local Spotlights. We use analytics to improve the site.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Signup information is stored in Google Workspace tools, and analytics data is processed by Google. If we move the weekly report to an email service, your signup information will move with it so we can keep sending the report.
Your choices
Every weekly report email includes a way to unsubscribe. To have your information removed entirely, email medusa.shoulders@gmail.com and we will delete it. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date below.
